The currency in use in Ghana is the Ghana Cedis (GH¢). One Ghana cedi is equivalent to 100 Ghana pesewas (i.e. GH¢1 = 100 GP). It is the only legal tender for the transaction of any business in Ghana. The cedi can be exchanged for major foreign currencies as follow:

Offices are generally open Monday to Friday from 8:30h to 12:30h in the morning and 13:30h to 17:00h in the afternoon. Shops from 8:30h to 1900h from Monday to Saturday. In addition, some banks and insurance companies are open on Saturdays from 8:00h to 12:00h
